Residence visa for qualified investor:
Foreigners who make an investment in the Republic of Panama can apply for this permanent residence visa, which must be maintained for a minimum of five (5) years, under one of the following modalities:
Real Estate Investment: Invest a minimum amount of three hundred thousand balboas (B/.300,000.00) until October 2024. After this date, the minimum investment increases to five hundred thousand balboas (B/.500,000.00), free of liens, in real estate. The investment can also be made in pre-sale real estate projects.
Investments through a Securities House: Acquire securities through a qualified and authorized Panamanian securities firm, for a minimum amount of five hundred thousand balboas (B/.500,000.00), for a term of 5 years.
Investment through Fixed-Term Deposit: Open a fixed-term deposit for a minimum amount of seven hundred and fifty thousand balboas (B/.750,000.00) in a qualified Panamanian bank, for a term of 5 years, free of liens.
The general requirements to apply for this permanent residence are as follows:
- Powers of attorney and forms that we will provide for your signature.
- Five (5) passport-sized photographs.
- Copy of your passport's complete pages with a minimum validity of three months.
- Criminal record certificate from the country of origin or residence, duly apostilled or authenticated at the Consulate of Panama in the country where it was issued.
- Certificate of good health issued by a doctor in Panama.
- Certification issued by the Investment Promotion Directorate.
- Payment of B/.5,000 to the National Immigration Service.
- Payment of B/.5,000 to the National Treasury.
- En caso de dependientes mayores de 12 años: pago adicional de B/.1,000 por dependiente al Tesoro Nacional y otro pago de B/. 1.000 al Servicio Nacional de Migración.
- En caso de dependientes menores de 12 años: pago adicional de B/.1,000 por dependiente al Tesoro Nacional
- Proof that the funds come from a foreign source, which can be any of the following: a letter from the foreign bank legalized or from the local bank, a statement of the foreign bank legalized or authenticated by the local bank, or a notarized letter issued by the recipient of the funds or a bank certification confirming the receipt of funds.
